THIS way or THAT way: West Elm Zig Zag Curtain

Cotton Canvas Zigzag Curtain - Maize

This zig zag curtain from West Elm caught my eye.  I love colorful, patterned pieces that are also extremely versatile, and this curtain is just that.  You can take it in so many directions.  In this segment of “THIS way or THAT way” I decided to go with a neutral, relaxing coastal feel and a colorful, islander vibe.  It’s always fun to see how just by changing a few accessories, the entire feel of a room can change.   So, what do you think, THIS way or THAT way?

I love mixing high end pieces with less expensive items like the sunburst mirror I selected from Target.  Check out these other cute sunburst mirror options I found herehere, and here.

Things that Inspire: Grandpa’s Chair

Grandpa's Chair_collage_4

This, is my Grandpa’s chair.  The one he finished his LA Times crossword puzzles in, the one he napped in while we ran around him, and the chair that made more of an impression on my little mind than the carpet it sat on.  It now sits in our living room.  I pass it everyday as if it’s as common as a lazy-boy recliner, but when we have company it is always a topic of conversation.  Circa 1950’s, Eames-esqe bentwood recliners with tufted leather are not all that common in our neck of the woods.  I think Grandpa would be happy to know the next generation is having just as much fun spinning this well-loved chair as fast as we did.
